PHILIPPINE GUIDE AT KAYA HOUSE

A Tourist Guide is a person who guides tourists in the language of their choice to interpret nature and culture heritage in which some one possess competency qualification authorized by local authority. This is a professional and needs to learn whole life as a tourist guide since information sis very dynamic said Mangku Kandia, President of Southeast Asia Tourist Guides’ Association ( SEATGA) recently at Kaya House.

There were 9 persons Tourist Guides from Philippine Federation of Professional Tour Guide Association, INC (TGFED) had joined the 1st ASEAN TOURIST GUIDE SYMPOSIUM & BALINESE CULTURE IMMERSION from 09-13 November 2015. The symposium aims at sharing experiences, Skills and knowledge of Guiding among TGFED Members with Indonesia Tourist Guides’ Association BALI Chapter at HPI Bali office at Jalan Sekar Tunjung Denpasar Bali.

“This is very fruitful symposium in which we can learn from TGFED how to renew guiding licensed in which they have to renewal every year, unlike us in Bali Tourist Guide is only once for 3 years explained Sang Putu Subaya Chairman for ITGA Bali chapter at his office”.

On the other hand Tsunami as he called, was so impressed with 9000 numbers of Bali Guides even though is only active 6000 guides. At the Philippine , total numbers of Tourist Guides are 650 persons if comparing with Bali was nothing said Tsunami, appointed Vice president of SEATGA and Vice president for TGFED.

All participants are looking forward to joining for next SEATGA Symposium that has been proven to bring benefits to guide members in ASEAN.
