Indonesia Mask Dancing Festival 2015

Mas Village Ubud Sub District will host the national events for Indonesia Mask Dancing Festival from 05-07 December 2015 facilitated by Culture Authority of Gianyar Regency Bali Indonesia explained by Mr. Ngurah Widyana, head of Culture authority recently at office of Village Head of Mas Ubud Gianyar regency.

This will be 1st Indonesia Mask Dancing Festival or Festival Topeng Nusantara will be joined by seven provinces of Indonesia. Cirebon Central Java, Yogyakarta provinces have already confirmed their participation. The festival aims at preserving Wooden Mask and dancer, promoting Mas as center for wood carving that has been well known since 1930’s since the arrival of western artist such Rudolf Bonnet to Ubud.

Anak Agung Bharata , head of Gianyar regency will officially open this festival on Saturday, 5th December 2015 around 1800 Bali’s time said Dharmayuda, Village head. The main agenda during the festival will be; Mask dancing performances, Wooden Mask Exhibition and Wooden Mask Workshop by Professor Bandem and Professor Dibya as moderator from Indonesia Art Institutes. The committee expects by conducting this events will be able to attract International and Domestic tourists for visit to Mas Tourism Village, at the end will increase people’s welfare.
